Do you want to secure your server on Discord Mobile? Whether you are a server owner or an admin, it’s essential to know how to lock a server to maintain privacy and prevent unauthorized access. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the steps to lock a server on Discord Mobile.

Step 1: Open the Discord Mobile App

If you haven’t already, download and install the Discord Mobile app from your device’s app store. Launch the app and log in with your Discord account credentials.

Step 2: Access Server Settings

Once you have logged in, navigate to the server you want to lock. Tap on the three horizontal lines located at the top left corner of the screen to open the sidebar menu. From there, select “Servers” and choose the desired server.

Step 3: Open Server Settings

In the chosen server, tap on the name of the server at the top of the screen. This will open up a dropdown menu with various options. Locate and tap on “Server Settings” towards the bottom of this list.

Step 4: Manage Roles

Inside “Server Settings,” scroll down until you find “Roles.” Tap on it to access role management options for your server.

Create New Role

To lock your server effectively, it’s best to create a new role with limited permissions that only allows certain users to access specific channels.

  • Note:
    • If you already have a role suitable for locking purposes, skip this step and proceed directly to Step 5.
    • If you are creating a new role, tap on “+ (plus)” located at the top right corner of the screen. Enter a name for the role, such as “Locked” or “Restricted,” and set the appropriate permissions.
    • Ensure that the new role has limited access to channels and restricts certain actions, such as sending messages or joining voice channels.

Step 5: Apply Role to Channels

Now that you have a suitable role for locking your server, it’s time to apply it to the desired channels.

  • Note:
    • If you want to lock all channels in your server, skip this step and proceed directly to Step 6.
    • If you only want to lock specific channels, follow these instructions:

Locking Specific Channels

Tap on the channel you want to lock from the list of available channels in “Server Settings.” Scroll down until you find “Permissions” and tap on it.

  • Note:
    • If you can’t see “Permissions,” ensure that you have appropriate admin or manage channel permissions.
    • If needed, repeat this step for each channel you want to lock separately.

Step 6: Restrict Server Access

To enforce server-wide restrictions, apply your newly created role or an existing suitable role across all channels in your server. This will prevent unauthorized users from accessing any channel within your server.

Applying Role Globally

In “Server Settings,” locate “Roles” again. Tap on your desired role and enable all the necessary permissions, such as “Read Messages” or “Send Messages.” Ensure that this role has access to all channels.

Step 7: Save Changes

After configuring your server settings to lock specific channels or restrict server access, ensure you save your changes. Tap on the “Save” button located at the top right corner of the screen.

Congratulations! You have successfully locked your server on Discord Mobile. Now only authorized users with the appropriate role will be able to access the designated channels within your server, ensuring utmost privacy and security.

Remember, it’s crucial to regularly review and manage roles in your server to maintain a secure environment. By following these steps, you can control who has access to your Discord Mobile server while providing a safe space for communication and collaboration.
