How Do You Add a Dank Meme to a Discord Server?

Angela Bailey

Discord servers have become a hub for online communities to connect, share interests, and have a good laugh. One way to add some humor and entertainment to your Discord server is by adding dank memes. In this tutorial, you will learn how to add a dank meme to your Discord server in just a few simple steps.

Step 1: Find the Perfect Dank Meme

Before we begin, it’s important to find a dank meme that suits the tone and theme of your Discord server. There are several websites and online communities dedicated to sharing memes, such as Reddit or 9GAG. Browse through these platforms or use search engines to find the perfect meme that will resonate with your server members.

Step 2: Save the Meme Image

Once you’ve found the perfect dank meme, right-click on the image and select “Save Image As” to save it onto your computer. Make sure to remember the location where you save the image for easy access in the next steps.

Step 3: Open Discord and Navigate to Your Server

Launch Discord on your computer or open the web app and log in with your credentials. Once logged in, navigate to your Discord server where you want to add the dank meme.

Step 4: Access Server Settings

In order to add an image or any other content to your server, you need sufficient permissions. If you are an administrator or have appropriate permissions, proceed with the following steps:

  • In your Discord server, locate the server name at the top left corner of the screen.
  • Right-click on the server name.
  • A dropdown menu will appear; select “Server Settings” from this menu.

Step 5: Navigate to the Server Overview

In the server settings, you will see different tabs on the left side of the screen. Click on “Overview” to access the server overview settings.

Step 6: Find and Click on “Widget”

Within the server overview settings, you will find a tab named “Widget.” Click on this tab to access the widget settings.

Step 7: Enable Server Widget

In the widget settings, you will find an option to enable or disable the server widget. Toggle it on if it’s not already enabled.

Step 8: Copy Widget URL

Once you’ve enabled the server widget, a URL will be generated. Copy this URL as we’ll be using it in the next steps.

Step 9: Create a Text Channel

If you don’t already have a text channel dedicated to memes, create one by following these steps:

  • In your Discord server, locate the channel list on the left side of your screen.
  • Right-click anywhere in that area and select “Create Channel” from the dropdown menu.
  • A window will appear where you can set up your new text channel. Give it an appropriate name such as “Memes” and configure any additional settings if desired.
  • Click on “Create Channel” to finalize the creation of your new text channel.

Step 10: Post Your Dank Meme

Now that you have a dedicated text channel for memes, it’s time to post your dank meme:

  • Navigate to the newly created text channel.
  • Click on the message input field at the bottom of the screen.
  • Drag and drop or use the file upload feature to select and upload your saved dank meme image.
  • Once uploaded, you will see the image displayed within the text channel.

Step 11: Share Your Meme with Server Members

Congratulations! You’ve successfully added a dank meme to your Discord server. All that’s left to do is share it with your server members:

  • Copy the URL of the meme message by right-clicking on it and selecting “Copy Message Link.”
  • Paste the URL in a relevant server channel or share it directly with your server members.

And there you have it! By following these simple steps, you can easily add a dank meme to your Discord server.

Remember to keep it appropriate and considerate of your server’s guidelines and audience. Happy memeing!
