How Do I Join a Discord Mobile Server?

Discord is a popular communication platform that allows you to chat with friends, join communities, and even play games together. If you’re new to Discord and want to join a server using your mobile device, this tutorial will guide you through the process.

Step 1: Install the Discord App

To get started, you need to install the Discord app on your mobile device. Visit your device’s app store (e.g., Google Play Store for Android or App Store for iOS) and search for “Discord.” Once you find the official Discord app, tap on the install button and wait for it to download and install on your device.

Step 2: Create or Log in to Your Account

If you already have a Discord account, launch the app and enter your login credentials (email/username and password) on the login screen. If you don’t have an account yet, tap on the “Register” button instead.

Fill in the required details, including your email address, desired username, and password. Once done, tap on “Continue” or any similar button to create your account.

Step 3: Navigate to the Server Discovery Page

After logging in, you’ll be taken to the home screen of the Discord app. At the bottom of your screen, locate and tap on the icon with three horizontal lines (also known as the hamburger menu) to open the side menu.

In this side menu, scroll down until you find “Explore Public Servers” or “Server Discovery” (the wording may vary depending on your version of Discord). Tap on it to proceed.

Step 4: Browse or Search for Servers

On the Server Discovery page, you have multiple options to find a server to join. You can browse through various categories, such as gaming, art, music, or education, by tapping on the respective icons.

If you have a specific server in mind or want to explore beyond the suggested categories, use the search bar at the top of the screen. Enter relevant keywords and tap on the magnifying glass icon or any similar button to initiate the search.

Step 5: Join a Server

Once you find a server that interests you, tap on it to view more details. On this screen, you’ll see information about the server like its name, description, number of members, and possibly some rules.

If everything looks good and you want to join this server, tap on the “Join” button. Some servers may require you to agree to their rules before joining. In such cases, make sure to read and accept their terms if you’re comfortable with them.

Note:

If a server has an invitation link shared with you by someone else, instead of browsing or searching for servers in Step 4:

  • Copy the invitation link provided by your friend or community.
  • Paste the link into your device’s web browser (e., Chrome or Safari) and press Enter.
  • The Discord app will launch (if installed), prompting you to open it. Tap on “Open” when prompted.
  • You’ll be redirected to Discord with an option to join the server. Tap on “Join” to proceed.

Step 6: Start Interacting on the Server

Once you join a server, you can start interacting with its members. You’ll be able to see the server’s channels, chat rooms, voice channels (if any), and various other features.

Feel free to explore the server, join conversations, participate in events, or seek help from community members. Discord offers a rich set of features to enhance your communication experience.

Congratulations! You have successfully joined a Discord mobile server. Enjoy connecting with like-minded individuals and engaging in exciting conversations!
