Are you looking to enhance your Discord server with some exciting mods? Adding mods to your Discord server can bring a whole new level of customization and functionality. In this tutorial, we will walk you through the step-by-step process of adding mods to your Discord server.
Step 1: Create or Select a Discord Server
If you don’t already have a Discord server, head over to the official Discord website and create a new server. If you already have a server, select it from the left sidebar in the Discord app.
Step 2: Open the Server Settings
In order to add mods to your Discord server, you need to have administrative privileges. Once you are in your desired server, click on the small down arrow next to the server name at the top left corner of the screen. From the dropdown menu, select “Server Settings”.
Step 3: Navigate to the “Roles” Tab
In the Server Settings menu, look for the “Roles” tab on the left sidebar and click on it. This is where we will manage and assign roles for our mods.
Step 4: Create a New Role
To add mods, we need to create a new role specifically for them. Scroll down to find the list of existing roles on your server. Click on the “+” button located near the top right corner of that section.
Name Your Role:
Type in a name for your mod role. You can be creative with this but make sure it clearly indicates that it is for moderators.
Add Permissions:
Select which permissions you want your moderators to have. You can enable various permissions like “Kick Members”, “Ban Members”, “Manage Channels” to give your mods the necessary tools to moderate your server effectively.
Save the Role:
Once you have set the role name and permissions, click on the “Save Changes” button at the bottom right corner of the window to create the new role.
Step 5: Assign the Mod Role to Users
Now that you have created a mod role, it’s time to assign it to users who will be your mods. In the Server Settings menu, click on the “Members” tab located in the left sidebar.
Step 6: Add Mods
In this section, you will find a list of all members present on your server. Locate and click on the member’s name that you want to make a mod. This will open up their individual settings.
Add Role:
Scroll down until you find the “Roles” section in their settings. Click on “+ Add Role” and select the mod role that you created earlier. This will assign that role to that particular user.
Repeat for Other Mods:
If you have multiple users who need moderator privileges, repeat Step 6 for each user until all your desired mods have been assigned their roles.
Congratulations!
You have successfully added mods to your Discord server! Your new moderators can now enjoy their enhanced permissions and help in managing and moderating your server effectively.
- Note:
- Keep in mind that moderation roles should be given to trusted individuals only.
- You can always remove or modify the mod role’s permissions later if needed.
Now that you know how to add mods to your Discord server, you can make your server a better place for everyone. Enjoy the enhanced moderation capabilities and keep your server safe and enjoyable!
